Knitting Basics Class: Fee: $100 plus supplies Class Level: Beginner This class consists of four two-hour sessions. Skills learned include;two different cast-on techniques, two bind-off techniques, knit and purl stitches, as well as a combination of those two stitches creating rib-knit, stockinette, seed, and a basic cable. The student will also learn how to join new yarn, sew basic seams together, increase/decrease, the importance of gauge, blocking techniques,and the ability to translate the symbols on yarn labels. |

Beyond Basics Class: Fee: $100 plus supplies Class Level: Must know basic knitting This class consists of four two-hour sessions. Skills learned include several cast-ons, increasing/decreasing, ribbing, picking up stitches, and choosing both a pattern and the right yarn for that pattern. Techniques disussed are as follows: cables, intarsia, fair-isle or color work, button holes, short rows, mitered squares, and the importance of gauge and re-gauging a pattern. Students will be asked to submit various samples of these techniques. |

Project-based Class: Fee: $100 Class Level: Must know basic knitting This class was developed for but not limited to the advanced beginner. Students will select a project of their choice, including a pattern and materials, either before or on the first day of class if the students feel they require assistance from the instructor. The objective of this class is to instill confidence in basic skills already learned and advance their abilities beyond the scarf and poncho. While this class is not limited to beginners, the student should have a basic understanding of the following; cast-on, knit stitch, purl stitch, increase & decrease, and the bind-off techniques. The student’s goal is to finish their project by the end of this four week course. While in class, other knitting techniques and theories will be discussed and demonstrated as time permits. |

Finishing Techniques: Fee: $100 plus supplies Class Level: Must know basic knitting This 4 two-hour session will cover the following; different methods of blocking, how to join “shoulder” seams using grafting, bind-off together and sewing, how to sew a “sleeve” to the body of a sweater, how to stop and start with new yarn, and how to sew a garment together with a variety of knitted stitches. |

Oops! Class: Fee: $15 Class Level: Must know basic knitting This is a one hour session. This class is for those who have encountered a project problem and need help. Be it a badly twisted cable, or illogical pattern, the instructor will get you back on track with your knitting and answer any questions you may have. The student can attend as many times as necessary without coming to a class schedule. Please call ahead so that we may schedule an Oops! Class for you with an instructor. |
