Back by popular demand, Why Knot Knit Highlands is proud to announce its' second Annual Knitter's Retreat. As requested, it will be held Super Bowl weekend, February 1-3, 2008 at The Lodge of the Old Edwards Inn in Highlands, North Carolina.

We listened to the requests and comments of our previous attendees and have done our best to meet those requests. We have secured a large meeting room at the Lodge for classes and will be offering classes Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning before the retreat ends. We are currently lining up instructors for classes including: How to make Socks, Intarsia, Crochet Edgings for the Knitter and How to cut your knitted fabric without tears. We are also willing to listen to any other suggestions for classes and will do our best to accommodate you, the attendee.

Best of all, we have Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton, world renowned knitwear designer for Noro Yarns as our guest speaker and instructor! Through her 20 year business Hamilton Design, she has created four yarn collections, pattern books, computer programs and accessories. She has also sold a hand knit collection under her own label in boutiques in 20 states. We are very proud to have such an accomplished designer participate in the retreat.

All packages include: accommodations (except for no room attendees) for two nights, Friday night Wine & Cheese Party, Saturday and Sunday breakfast, Saturday night dinner at the Madison, and any classes you wish to attend. We will keep all those who register for the retreat posted on classes as soon as they are finalized.

Because of the large waiting list of those wishing to attend the retreat, we encourage you to register as soon as possible. Space is limited. Please call Tanji at #828-787-1972 to make your reservation. It will be a first come, first basis and no refunds will be given after November 19, 2007. (But who's kidding who? You aren't going to want to miss this!)

Below are the rates for the retreat packages. The Old Edwards Inn prohibits three attendees in a room. If anyone wishes to reserve a spa treatment, you may call The Old Edwards Inn at # 828-526-9887 and reserve your session directly with the spa.

Single Occupancy Package: $595

Double Occupancy/Standard Package: $450 **The Lodge only has four rooms with two beds. All other double occupancy/standard rooms contain one king-size bed.

Double Occupancy/Upgraded Package: $595 **These units consist of a suite with two bedrooms and living area.

Non-room Attendee Package: $245
